Jay Kristoff

Jay Kristoff — 3 titles in the rankings, first published between 2016 and 2019. They average 8.3, above the 7.8 the whole catalogue averages. One series has a reading order worth keeping to.

Editor’s note Australian writer of dark, stylish fantasy and science fiction. His Nevernight Chronicle follows Mia Corvere, a girl with a shadow cat for company, who trains at a school for assassins to avenge her murdered family in a city modelled on Venice and Rome; it is violent, explicit and full of sardonic footnotes. Nevernight is the most read and the lowest rated of the three; Godsgrave rates highest. With Amie Kaufman he also wrote the Illuminae Files.
