Our view

“The Raven King” shows what this series does best: sharply written characters and dialogue inside a dark, magical quest. Blue’s prophecy, that she will cause the death of her true love, hangs over everything. Some readers feel the plot cannot always keep pace with the cast, and that Adam and Ronan outshine the central romance. Readers attached to these friends may well not mind.
