Our view
A sequel series that starts by widening Percy Jackson’s world: three new leads and, its best idea, a Roman side of the myths set against the Greek one as a distinct culture. Some readers feel the opening strains to enlarge the universe, and some find the teenage banter forced, but the quest settles into an easy rhythm. Best read after the Percy Jackson books; younger readers who liked those will feel at home.
