Our view
Readers measure “The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye” against Stieg Larsson’s original trilogy, and find a solid crime novel. It is the fifth “Millennium” book and David Lagercrantz’s second, again built around Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist. Some feel the difference in the writing more than in the fourth volume; others wanted more from the two leads and a fuller plot, and recommend it chiefly to those attached to the series.
