Our view

“The Core” is the fifth and final “Demon Cycle” novel, an ending on an epic scale. Some readers call it their favourite of the series and praise the strong finish, even though one recurring element of these books put them off. Others are disappointed, finding nearly nine hundred pages of action and spectacle and little beyond that. Either way it presumes the four volumes before it.
