Our view
“The Clocks” offers a strong Christie puzzle with flashes of humour and a satisfying unravelling. Christie’s prose is light on its feet and at moments surprisingly modern. Some readers miss Hercule Poirot, who in their view enters the case too late, and others find the early chapters tiresome or the solution obscure. Those who take comfort in the Christie formula will find it intact.
