Our view
“The Castle of Llyr” carries “The Chronicles of Prydain” on with humour and feeling. It is the third of five volumes following Taran, the young Assistant Pig-Keeper, and his friends, and Prince Rhun, cheerful and a little hapless, is for some readers the best thing in it. Others feel the pattern of the series is familiar by now, and Eilonwy herself is offstage for much of the story.
