Our view
“Say Cheese and Die!” delivers the “Goosebumps” mix of fun and creepiness through a camera whose pictures show disasters before they happen. Greg finds the old camera and soon wonders whether it predicts the future or makes it. Some readers find the friends’ banter true to life, and the scares are sized for children rather than adults. Some adults return to it for nostalgia and still have a good time.

About the book
Greg thinks there is something wrong with the old camera he found. The photos keep turning out . . . different. When Greg takes a picture of his father's brand-new car, it's wrecked in the photo. And then his dad crashes the car. It's like the camera can tell the future--or worse. Maybe it makes the future!
