Our view

“Pathfinder” opens Orson Scott Card’s trilogy of the same name with a time-travel story whose outcome is not easy to guess. Rigg can see the paths that living things have left through time. Some readers admire how the suspense survives such strong powers and single out the vivid characters and a strong ending; others find a few stretches slow.
