Our view
“Ordeal by Innocence” is an absorbing Agatha Christie family mystery, where the pleasure lies in watching each character come into focus. The solution holds together, and an attentive reader may get there first without feeling cheated. The final pages divide opinion: some readers find the culprit unsatisfying or the late romances embarrassing, and certain period attitudes strike them as dated.
