Our view
The first full-length Murderbot novel uses its extra room well: the humour and action of the novellas are intact, but there is more space for Murderbot’s reluctant feelings and for its reunion with ART, the heart of the book. It depends heavily on what came before, so read the four earlier novellas first, in order. Some readers already fond of this narrator count it the high point of the series so far.
