Our view
“Mister Monday” opens “The Keys to the Kingdom” with real invention: a House at the centre of the universe and a twelve-year-old who inherits it. Nix borrows the shapes of religious stories and bends them into something of his own, down to the odd creatures in bowler hats. Aimed at readers of about Arthur’s age, it also pleases some adults, and it leaves readers wanting the second volume.
