Our view
“Mansfield Park” is a quiet novel of family life built around a heroine of duty and principle, and readers divide over it. Some love Fanny and are entertained by the household around her; others find the domestic drama dull or are exasperated by nearly everyone in it. At close to five hundred pages, it suits those in no hurry for the love story to arrive.
