Our view

“King of Foxes” is a steady middle volume of Raymond E. Feist’s “Conclave of Shadows” trilogy, built on espionage, revenge and court politics. The hero pursues his vengeance through secret missions and quick-fire action, and the political scheming gives the story its most interesting thread. Some readers find the plot predictable and assembled from familiar elements, the intrigue underused, and the hero improbably gifted and lucky.
