Our view

“Drama” is a warm, light graphic novel about a seventh-grader who loves theatre and works backstage on her school’s production. Telgemeier lets the drawings carry the feeling, sometimes with no words at all, and the crushes and fallings-out of middle school ring true. Readers like that Callie stands up for herself and that the story is as much about friendship and inclusion as about first love.
