Our view
“Dracul” is a dark, well-crafted prequel to “Dracula”, from Bram Stoker’s great-grandnephew Dacre Stoker. Written with J. D. Barker, it is a nineteenth-century vampire story steeped in mystery. Some readers who love the Dracula legend find it a worthy companion to the classic, even if the shift in viewpoint in its third part jars a little for some of them. It may well send readers back to Bram Stoker’s novel.
