“Dog Man” is a loud, silly, reliably funny comic about a half-dog policeman. The humour is simple and happily lavatorial; some adults find the toilet jokes hard going, though there is the odd laugh for a grown-up reading along, and some parents say it gets their child reading. A spin-off from “Captain Underpants”, it opens a long series aimed squarely at primary-school readers.

About the book
Dog Man is an American children's graphic novel series by author and illustrators George Beard and Harold Hutchins. A spinoff of Pilkey's Captain Underpants series, Dog Man revolves around the adventures of the titular character, a half-man, half-dog hybrid who works as a police officer.
