Our view
“Clockwork Prince” is the middle volume of the Infernal Devices trilogy and the one where its emotional stakes take over. The triangle between Tessa, Will and Jem is written with real tenderness, and for some readers it is the reason to love these books; Will’s past finally comes into focus. Those less drawn to love triangles may find it the weakest strand of the book. Read the first book before this one.
