Our view
“Children of the Mind” finishes what “Xenocide” began and gives Ender’s story a workable ending. It was once part of that earlier novel, so it makes little sense alone. The ideas remain near the level of the previous books, but some readers tire of how long every situation and conversation is analysed, and a few are unconvinced by the relationships between the characters.
