Mario Puzo
Mario Puzo — 2 titles in the rankings, first published between 1969 and 1984. They average 8.1, above the 7.8 the whole catalogue averages. One series has a reading order worth keeping to.
Editor’s note American novelist and screenwriter whose The Godfather, from 1969, is by far his most read book and one of the highest rated novels here: the saga of Vito Corleone’s crime family and of his youngest son Michael, the war hero who becomes the most ruthless of them all. Puzo co-wrote the screenplays for Francis Ford Coppola’s films. The Sicilian, which follows the bandit Salvatore Giuliano during Michael’s exile in Sicily, rates much lower.
