- These are the newspaper strips, and they are a third Moomin altogether — not the nine novels and not the picture books.
- Tove Jansson drew them daily for the London Evening News from 1954, then handed the strip to her brother Lars in 1959 and he continued it for another fifteen years.
- They are funnier, more satirical and aimed at adults reading on a train: Moominpappa has a midlife crisis, the family goes to the Riviera, there are jokes about tax.
- No order at all — each story is a few weeks of strips and stands alone.
