Our view
“Void Moon” is a bold departure for Michael Connelly: a crime novel told from the other side of the law. Its lead, Cassie Black, is a criminal rather than an investigator, and the first woman at the centre of one of his novels. Some readers enjoy its pace and Connelly’s sure storytelling, yet find the plot fairly predictable, the minor characters flat and the violence heavier than in their usual reading.

About the book
Void Moon is the ninth novel by American crime author Michael Connelly. It was released in the UK in 2000, and was the third of Connelly's books not to follow the character Harry Bosch. It was also his first novel to feature a female protagonist, Cassidy "Cassie" Black, and a protagonist who is a criminal instead of an investigator of criminals.
