Our view

“Timequake” is Vonnegut at his most conversational: a funny, wise and loosely assembled book. Part memoir, part summary of a novel he had struggled with for years, it is what he himself called a stew. Some readers describe it as closer to talking with the author than to reading a story, and note how much of the comedy circles death. It suits those who already like his voice.
