Our view

“The Traitor Queen” is an engaging close to Canavan’s “The Traitor Spy Trilogy”, built on magic, intrigue and a fragile alliance. Lorkin, back from exile, has to broker a pact between his own people and the Traitors. Some readers enjoy the return to this world and the doors left open for later stories; others find the plot meandering, or the ending too neat and predictable. Read the first two volumes and the earlier trilogy first.
