Our view
“The Name of This Book Is Secret” is a playful children’s mystery whose narrator keeps breaking into the story to tease and warn the reader. Cass and Max-Ernest look into the strange death of a local magician, and some readers enjoy watching the two work things out together. Not everyone takes to the interruptions: some find them gimmicky and the humour forced. It will please children who like a narrator with opinions.
