Our view
Spycraft meets cosmic horror once again in “The Labyrinth Index”, a sharp, unpredictable ninth novel in “The Laundry Files”. Some readers devoted to the premise praise its intelligence and its dread, and note that it sets out, as the series likes to, to do something different from the earlier volumes. With vampires, conspiracy and magic in the mix, it rewards readers who like their espionage strange.
