Our view
Dean Koontz’s “The Husband” is an entertaining kidnapping thriller with a strong premise, told in turn from the husband’s side and his wife’s. The book keeps its reader guessing as the two of them try to get the better of the kidnappers. Some feel that the second half loses the drive of the first, action scenes notwithstanding, and judge the execution weaker than the idea. It is fairly dark, with torture among its violence.
