Our view
“Skinny Dip” is Carl Hiaasen in good comic form, a light revenge caper set against a threat to Florida’s Everglades. A murder plot sets things going, and the payback that follows brings back Skink and the former detective Mick Stranahan. Some readers relish its satire and a villain made to be loathed; others find the ending quieter than the frantic book before it. Beneath the jokes lies a real argument about Florida’s wetlands.
