Our view

“Say Nothing” starts from a single abduction in 1972 and widens into a history of the Troubles that a newcomer can follow. The murder of Jean McConville is its thread, but the early chapters step back to lay out the whole conflict, and the reporting stays dense throughout. Anyone expecting a tight true-crime case gets far more than a case file, and is the richer for it.
