Our view
Set in the universe of “Ancillary Justice” without being a sequel, “Provenance” tells a self-contained story with offbeat characters and real humour. Some readers find the pacing hard to follow, with a plot that wanders and then resolves quietly, and some warm less to the heroine than to those around her. Its pleasures are the surprises of the plot, some of them comic, and a look at other corners of Leckie’s universe.
