Our view
The best of this novel is the talk: the back-and-forth between Quentin and his friends is quick, funny and true to how teenagers needle one another. The search for Margo that drives the whole plot is more divisive: some readers see in her less a person than an ideal. It reads fast, and some find it the least affected of Green’s books. Good for readers who like coming-of-age stories with jokes.
