Our view
“Love Story” is a brief, direct novel of first love whose power lies in its restraint. Erich Segal keeps the drama low, and some readers find it honest and moving for exactly that reason. Others feel little chemistry between the two leads, even if the ending stays with them. It suits anyone in search of a short, sincere romance.
