Our view

The second Crescent City novel is built towards its ending, which leaves some readers impatient for the next volume. On the way there, some find the 801 pages longer than the plot needs and the many shifts in point of view unnecessary, and feel that new characters and storylines arrive with little preparation. It suits readers already invested in the series, not newcomers.
