Our view
“Foxglove Summer” takes the Peter Grant series away from its usual setting, and the change of air does it good. The wit, the pop-culture asides and the mix of magic with police procedure are all in place, and some readers rank this fifth volume among the best so far. Others miss Nightingale, who barely appears, and are lukewarm about the romance between Peter and Beverley. Enjoyable by itself, better with the earlier cases behind it.
