Our view

“Earthfall” is a family epic in science-fiction dress, the fourth volume of Orson Scott Card’s Homecoming Saga. Drawing on the early history told in the Book of Mormon, it centres on the feud between a brother hungry for power and one who never sought to lead. Some readers who enjoyed the first three books feel the conflict now pulls in too many directions. It is not the place to start the series.
