Our view
“Corduroy” is a gentle picture book about a department-store teddy bear who hopes someone will take him home. The story is simple and sweet from first page to last, and Don Freeman’s pictures tell as much as his words. Some readers also value that its human characters are people of colour. In 32 pages it is made for the very youngest.
