Our view

“Catwings” is a gentle, beautifully judged little fantasy about four kittens born with wings. Ursula K. Le Guin sends them away from the slums to look for a safe home, until they meet two kind children. Some readers like that the cats stay cat-like apart from talking, and others find a warm lesson in it about being different. At forty-odd pages, it is ideal for reading aloud to small children.
