Editor’s note Nigerian writer from Lagos. My Sister, the Serial Killer, her short, darkly comic debut, is narrated by Korede, a careful nurse who keeps cleaning up after her beautiful younger sister Ayoola, whose boyfriends keep dying, and who then sets her sights on the doctor Korede loves. It was longlisted for the Booker Prize and is by far her most read book, though its score is only middling. Cursed Daughters, about a Lagos family whose men always leave, rates higher so far.
