Erik Larson

Erik Larson — 2 titles in the rankings, first published between 2000 and 2003. They average 8.0, above the 7.8 the whole catalogue averages.

Editor’s note American writer of narrative non-fiction that reads like a thriller. The Devil in the White City, by far his most read, sets the building of the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair beside the serial killer H. H. Holmes, who used it to lure his victims. Isaac’s Storm tells of the 1900 Galveston hurricane and the weatherman who failed to see it coming, and rates almost the same. Either is a fine start.
