Murderbot 系列的第二部篇幅短、節奏快，最迷人的是敘事者那種冷淡又愛發牢騷的口吻。新登場的研究運輸船 ART 是最大亮點，它與主角之間的鬥嘴帶來了書中大半的幽默。故事本身獨立完整，但頻頻提到第一部的內容，因此不建議從這本讀起。適合喜歡機智風趣、以角色魅力取勝的科幻小說的讀者。
