シリーズ第二巻となる本作で、この物語は本領を発揮します。Feyre と Rhysand の軽妙な言葉の応酬がいちばんの楽しみで、前巻が残した傷や悪夢にも正面から向き合っています。驚きの展開、宮廷の政治、恋愛がそろっていますが、七百ページを超える長さで、前巻を読んでいることが前提です。筋書きだけでなく人物と会話を楽しみたいロマンタジー好きに向いています。
知っておきたいこと 2016年5月に刊行され、シリーズの方向を変えた一冊です。フェイラは第1作の結末の余波と向き合い、物語は夜の宮廷へ移って、その主ライサンドの姿がまったく違って見えてきます。第1作より長く描写も大胆で、シリーズの人気を決定づけた巻とよく言われます。すべてが前作の結末を受けて展開するので、必ず『A Court of Thorns and Roses』から読んでください。
