“This review is for the audio version of the book, narrated by Katharine Chin and Eric Yang. Wow. Just wow. Wei Yin and her family are starving. Most of the country has been hit by the famine. She'd do anything to help her family and neighbors get enough food to thrive. She's desperate enough to offer herself up as one of the girls trying to gain access to the palace as a concubine. Even if it is to the prince who has a reputation for cruelty and murder. I don't know where to begin with this. This was absolutely fantastic. There was very little action to this plot, but I was still enthrall…”
