“If you like horror that is more a bout the depravity of humanity than the actual monsters, this is a good one. A non-spoiler heads up that I didn't anticipate from the blub/other reviews: half the book is in the POV of the sex offender. It's very well done, but still deeply disturbing and not something I particularly appreciated being surprised by.”
“If I had a nickel for every time I picked a bad book for book club, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. But oh dear... I got the ick, and I'm pretty sure I gave everyone in book club the ick too. Chat, I'm so sorry. I was genuinely excited for this book, especially because I picked a new release so we could all go in blind together. Mistake. The book starts off rough, following this stalker guy who spies on the women's bathroom at his job. And unfortunately, you get full access to his depraved inner monologue because he says some truly vile things…”
