“For a novella, the plot was moving at a glacial pace and I just couldn't focus or feel curious enough to stick to it. ”

It felt like this was desperately trying to be this philosophical think piece when this story actually would've benefitted from having a more “superficial”, direct writing style. The convoluted prose and diabolical overuse of brackets made it feel less philosophic and more like a high schooler trying to reach their essay word requirement.
