“Never have I hated two people so much in my life for showing RESTRAINT. I LOVED THIS BOOK. While it does start off a bit slow the pace and gothic atmosphere really picks up the pace and I found myself addicted to knowing what will happen next. Leena is a refugee whose father gets thrown into jail and who has a volatile younger brother, who basically is the reason why she seeks out the Saint of Silence in order to save him from a sickness he has. “I read a few reviews where people struggled getting into this one early on, and I gotta say, I did NOT have that issue. I was invested in this book from the first page to the last, reading it on the train to and from work, on my phone walking down the sidewalk, on my lunch break. The prose was really beautiful and I highlighted so many passages in this book, but for me it never felt like it dragged either.
