“The first quarter of this book was good, which always seems to be a red flag for me in a book. Promises like these seem to never pan out. Eventually you start to see the author's political and religious views start to bleed into the book. I very rarely rate books one star, but when an author shows racist and anti-atheist characters prevailing it's not even about the book anymore. This book and author pissed me off. The only thing worth redeeming is the narrator for the audiobook, who is kickass and a favorite of mine. Audio read by : Suzy Jackson”
“Wow, okay. Trying to wrap my head around the fact this won best horror when the writing wasn't particularly strong and the characters were frustratingly one dimensional and very cliché, and that twist..... don't get me started on that twist and ending. Whatever.”
“I've never seen a clearer agenda in a book than this. Of course the atheist, pro science, pro consent parents transed the kid after killing her mom I'm so shocked. But also of course the liberal, no red meat eating parents were going to teach their kid about “anal, cunnilingus, and gender theory” be so fucking for real.
